Artist/Gallery notes
This painting is based on a group of houses across the railway line from Subiaco, behind the Subiaco Football Oval. I wanted to be able to see beyond the houses, so I raised my viewpoint to allow the distant scene to show above the roofs. The foreground needed something more than the railway line, so I added in some imaginary buildings, below me as I looked down on the scene. In this I owe a debt to Lloyd Rees and to a mind that can soar high above the houses.
