I have painted this lovely old building for many years. When I first started painting, I lived in Melville and I used to go down to the river to draw this derelict house. Since then it has been renovated and has become The Left Bank, a popular place to dine and drink on the riverside. In this painting I was interested in the patterns and textures of the boats and buildings rising up from the river.
