Artist/Gallery notes
Close to where I live, outside Mount Helena in the Darling Ranges, there is Bunning Road. Mount Helena was a timber settlement with a sawmill and railway siding. Bunnings cut through the area 70 years ago. I sat on the verge of Bunning Road to paint this scene of shadows across the waving wheat. It was early in the morning and the shapes of the shadows stretched out across the landscape which rolled far away with diminishing trees.
