Artist/Gallery notes
This is a favourite spot of mine close to where I live outside Mount Helena. A rough track winds up the hill with forest on one side and fields on the other. Over the crest it tumbles down a steep rocky slope into a small but beautiful valley. A clear stream runs down the valley. I like to sit on the boulders at the top of the hill and paint the bright valley looking out through the trees. Even now I can remember the sounds of the black cockatoos as I painted. The ground around me was strewn with gum nuts. Hence the title 'Honky Nuts Galore'.
