The Hills area east of Perth has long been known as a place where artists and craftspeople choose to live as the semi rural nature of the area provides space and inspiration for their art practice.

Nine artists from the Shire of Mundaring have banded together to offer visitors an opportunity to visit their studios on the last weekend in October. This will give the public a chance to talk to the artists and see how they go about making their art and buy direct if they wish.

A Mundaring Hills Open Studios map is available for you and gives clear directions on how to get to the studios where parking will be provided and entry is free. The dates for 2010 are Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of October. The studios will be open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm both days.

The artists and craftspeople on the Mundaring Hills Open Studios map are Brian
Aylward, Madeleine Clear, Greg Crowe, Inta Goddard, Christine Hingston, Jeremy
Holton, Judy Kotai, Graeme Pages-Oliver and Joel Smoker.

The artist’s work can be seen and purchased at the Mundaring Arts Centre, which is located in the old post office building in the centre of Mundaring, 7190 Great Eastern Highway. Their web site is www.mundaringartscentre.com A number of the artists have their own web site which can be found on the map.
